Salary bands, cost formulas and benefit plans
Bandas salariales, fórmulas de costo y planes de beneficios
Three catalogs that support compensation: the pay range of each job level, the factor that turns a salary into its full cost for the company, and the list of benefits the company offers.
Salary bands
Bandas salariales
A band says how much a job level pays: a minimum, a midpoint and a maximum, in one currency and from a date. It is a reference for whoever proposes a salary; the system does not stop a package that falls outside the band.
- Open HR → Configuration → Salary Bands and press New Band.
- Choose the job level in Job Level. Job levels are created in the Organization group.
- Choose the currency and the date in Effective From.
- Type the three figures in Min, Mid and Max.
- Press Create.
- Entrá a RRHH → Configuración → Bandas Salariales y tocá Nueva banda.
- The minimum cannot be greater than the midpoint, nor the midpoint greater than the maximum.
- Two bands for the same job level and currency cannot cover the same dates.
- The pencil edits a band and the bin deletes it.
Cost formulas
Fórmulas de costo
The cost of an employee for the company is more than the salary: contributions, insurance and other charges are added. A cost formula holds the factor by which the salary is multiplied to estimate that full cost. The result is shown in the employee's record.
- Open HR → Configuration → Cost Formulas and press New Formula.
- Type DEFAULT in Code. It is the only code the system reads.
- Give it a name and, if you want, a description.
- Type the factor in Formula (multiplier or expression) as a plain number with a point for decimals. For example, 1.35 means that the full cost is the salary plus thirty-five percent.
- Set the date in Effective From and press Create.
- Entrá a RRHH → Configuración → Fórmulas de Costo y tocá New Formula.
The salary used for the cost is the sum of the amounts of all the lines of the employee's effective package, treated as a monthly figure. If a package mixes monthly and yearly lines, the estimate will be wrong.
Benefit plans
Planes de beneficios
A benefit plan is an entry in the catalog of what the company offers: health cover, meal vouchers, a pension plan. Go to HR → Configuration → Benefit Plans and press Add Benefit Plan. Fill in Code, Name and Effective From; Description and Effective To are optional.
In the list, the pencil edits a plan and the second icon deactivates or reactivates it; the messages are "Benefit plan deactivated" and "Benefit plan activated".
Common issues
Problemas habituales
- "Salary band range must satisfy: min <= mid <= max"
- The three figures are out of order. Correct them so that they grow from minimum to maximum.
- "Salary band overlaps with existing band for same job level, currency, and date range"
- There is already a band for that level and currency on those dates. Edit the existing one or change the date.
- "Failed to save band" / "Failed to save formula" / "Failed to save benefit plan"
- The record was not saved. A second message normally says why: a repeated code or dates that overlap.
- The employee's cost is equal to the salary
- There is no formula with the code DEFAULT in force on that date, or its content is not a plain number.
- "Salary band range must satisfy: min <= mid <= max"
- "Salary band overlaps with existing band for same job level, currency, and date range"
- "Failed to save band" / "Failed to save formula" / "Failed to save benefit plan"
