Stock adjustments
Ajustes de stock
An adjustment corrects the quantity of a product in a location when what the system says and what is really there do not match: breakage, loss, a counting mistake, expired goods.
Un ajuste corrige la cantidad de un producto en una ubicación cuando lo que dice el sistema y lo que hay de verdad no coinciden: roturas, faltantes, un error de conteo, mercadería vencida.

- Find the row in Inventory and choose Adjust in its menu. Warehouse, product, location and lot come filled in. The Adjust button at the top opens the same form empty.
- Choose the Reason Code. Most reasons fix the direction for you (see the table).
- Type the Quantity: how many units to add or remove, not the final quantity. The minimum is 1.
- Choose the Direction if the reason leaves it open: Increase or Decrease.
- Write Notes explaining what happened. They are saved with the movement.
- Press Adjust. The stock changes at once.
- Buscá la fila en Inventario y elegí Ajustar en su menú. Depósito, producto, ubicación y lote vienen cargados. El botón Ajustar de arriba abre el mismo formulario vacío.
- Elegí el Código de motivo. La mayoría de los motivos ya definen la dirección (mirá la tabla).
- Escribí la Cantidad: cuántas unidades sumar o quitar, no la cantidad final. El mínimo es 1.
- Elegí la Dirección si el motivo la deja abierta: Aumentar o Disminuir.
- Escribí Notas contando qué pasó. Se guardan con el movimiento.
- Tocá Ajustar. El stock cambia en el momento.

Damage does not take the units out. With the reason Damage the units stay on hand and move to the Damaged figure, so Available goes down and On Hand does not. To take damaged goods out for good, adjust again with Disposal.Daño no saca las unidades. Con el motivo Daño las unidades siguen en existencia y pasan a la cifra Dañado, así que baja el Disponible y no la En existencia. Para sacar del todo la mercadería dañada, ajustá de nuevo con Descarte.
What an adjustment does and does not do
Qué hace y qué no hace un ajuste
- It takes effect immediately. There is no approval step.
- It is recorded in Movement history as Adjustment In or Adjustment Out, with the reason and your notes.
- It cannot leave a location below zero.
- It only works on a product that already has a row in that location and lot. To put stock where there is none, use Receive instead.
- It cannot be undone. To reverse it, make the opposite adjustment and explain it in the notes.
- Rige en el momento. No hay paso de aprobación.
- Queda en el Historial de movimientos como Ajuste de entrada o Ajuste de salida, con el motivo y tus notas.
- No puede dejar una ubicación por debajo de cero.
- Solo funciona sobre un producto que ya tiene una fila en esa ubicación y lote. Para poner stock donde no hay, usá Recibir.
- No se puede deshacer. Para revertirlo, hacé el ajuste contrario y explicalo en las notas.

Common issues
Problemas habituales
- "Cannot adjust below zero. Current on-hand: …"
- You tried to remove more units than the location has. Check the quantity; the message shows what is on hand.
- "No inventory at specified location"
- That product has no row in that location and lot. Check the lot, or use Receive to enter stock there.
- "Damaged quantity cannot exceed on-hand quantity"
- You marked more damaged units than there are on hand.
- "Adjustment reason … cannot be used for …"
- The reason does not fit the direction. Choose another reason.
- "Must be greater than 0"
- Type a quantity of 1 or more.
- "Failed to adjust inventory"
- The adjustment was not made. Read the second notice for the reason.
- «Cannot adjust below zero. Current on-hand: …»
- Quisiste quitar más unidades de las que tiene la ubicación. Revisá la cantidad; el mensaje muestra lo que hay en existencia.
- «No inventory at specified location»
- Ese producto no tiene fila en esa ubicación y lote. Revisá el lote, o usá Recibir para ingresar stock ahí.
- «Damaged quantity cannot exceed on-hand quantity»
- Marcaste más unidades dañadas de las que hay en existencia.
- «Adjustment reason … cannot be used for …»
- El motivo no corresponde a la dirección. Elegí otro motivo.
- «Debe ser mayor que 0»
- Escribí una cantidad de 1 o más.
- «Error al ajustar el inventario»
- El ajuste no se hizo. Leé el segundo aviso para ver el motivo.
