Customer groups

Grupos de clientes

A group gathers customers that you treat alike, for example wholesalers or members of a chain. The primary group of a customer is the one a price list can follow.

Un grupo junta clientes que tratás igual, por ejemplo mayoristas o integrantes de una cadena. El grupo principal de un cliente es el que puede seguir una lista de precios.

Two kinds of group

Dos tipos de grupo

Type	Who is in it	Use it for
Static	The customers you add by hand.	Price lists. Only a static group can be the primary group of a customer.
Dynamic	The customers that meet a rule, recalculated when you ask for it.	Keeping a list up to date by a condition, for example all customers of a tier. It needs the CRM Analytics module.

Groups can hang from a Parent group, up to five levels deep. The hierarchy is only a way to keep them in order: a customer of a child group does not inherit anything from the parent.

Los grupos pueden colgar de un Grupo padre, hasta cinco niveles. La jerarquía es solo una forma de ordenarlos: un cliente de un grupo hijo no hereda nada del padre.

Create a group

Crear un grupo

Press New group.
Type the Code : between 2 and 40 characters, lowercase letters, digits and hyphens only. It cannot be changed later and it cannot be repeated.
Type the Name and, if you want, a Description.
Choose a Parent group or leave — No parent —.
Choose the Type : Static or Dynamic. It cannot be changed later.
For a dynamic group, write a short note in Rule expression , for example what the rule will be. The field is required to save, but the rule that counts is the one you build afterwards in the Rule tab.
Press Save. You see "Group created".

Tocá Nuevo grupo.
Escribí el Código : entre 2 y 40 caracteres, solo letras minúsculas, dígitos y guiones. No se puede cambiar después y no se puede repetir.
Escribí el Nombre y, si querés, una Descripción.
Elegí un Grupo padre o dejá — Sin grupo padre —.
Elegí el Tipo : Estático o Dinámico. No se puede cambiar después.
Para un grupo dinámico, escribí una nota corta en Expresión de regla , por ejemplo cuál va a ser la regla. El campo es obligatorio para guardar, pero la regla que vale es la que armás después en la pestaña Regla.
Tocá Guardar. Ves «Grupo creado».

Add customers to a static group

Agregar clientes a un grupo estático

Open the group and press Add members.
Type a name or an account number in Search accounts and pick the customer from the list. Repeat for each one; they pile up as chips.
Press Add members. They appear in the Members tab with source MANUAL.

Abrí el grupo y tocá Agregar miembros.
Escribí un nombre o un número de cuenta en Buscar cuentas y elegí el cliente de la lista. Repetí para cada uno; se van juntando como etiquetas.
Tocá Agregar miembros. Aparecen en la pestaña Miembros con origen MANUAL.

To take a customer out, open the three-dot menu of its row in Members and choose Remove. You can also work from the customer: in its Overview tab, Manage groups opens Account groups, where you add static groups, remove them and pick the primary one with the star.

Para sacar a un cliente, abrí el menú de tres puntos de su fila en Miembros y elegí Quitar. También podés trabajar desde el cliente: en su pestaña Resumen, Gestionar grupos abre Grupos de la cuenta, donde agregás grupos estáticos, los quitás y elegís el principal con la estrella.

The primary group

El grupo principal

Each customer has at most one primary group. The first static group you put a customer in becomes its primary group by itself. To change it, use Make primary in the row menu of the Members tab, or the star in Account groups. When a sale is priced, the system looks at the price lists assigned to the primary group only; the other groups of the customer do not count for prices.

Cada cliente tiene como mucho un grupo principal. El primer grupo estático en el que ponés a un cliente pasa a ser su grupo principal solo. Para cambiarlo, usá Marcar como principal en el menú de la fila de la pestaña Miembros, o la estrella en Grupos de la cuenta. Cuando se calcula el precio de una venta, el sistema mira solo las listas de precios asignadas al grupo principal; los otros grupos del cliente no cuentan para los precios.

Build the rule of a dynamic group

Armar la regla de un grupo dinámico

Open the group and go to the Rule tab.
Choose how conditions combine in Match: ALL (AND) or ANY (OR). One choice applies to the whole rule.
Press Add condition and choose the Field, the Operator and the Value. Field names and operators are shown in English. Tick NOT to invert a condition.
Press Save rule. Saving does not change the members.
Press Recompute. The system adds the customers that meet the rule and removes the ones that no longer do. Check the result in the Members tab.

Abrí el grupo y andá a la pestaña Regla.
Elegí cómo se combinan las condiciones en Coincidir: TODAS (Y) o CUALQUIERA (OR). Una sola opción vale para toda la regla.
Tocá Agregar condición y elegí el Campo, el Operador y el Valor. Los nombres de los campos y los operadores aparecen en inglés. Tildá NO para invertir una condición.
Tocá Guardar regla. Guardar no cambia los miembros.
Tocá Recalcular. El sistema agrega los clientes que cumplen la regla y saca los que dejaron de cumplirla. Revisá el resultado en la pestaña Miembros.

Values are free text and must match exactly, capitals included. Customer data is stored in capitals: the tier as GOLD, the type as CUSTOMER.
The fields you can rely on are the customer's own (tier, type, industry) and the purchase indicators of CRM Analytics (recency, frequency, amount bought, churn, margin). A customer with no analytics data fails every comparison on those indicators.
Only active customers enter a dynamic group.
Members are recalculated only when you press Recompute, here or in the row menu of the list. Nothing recalculates them at night or when a customer changes.
Leave Rule expression alone in Edit. That text is only a note; changing it does not change who is in the group.

Los valores son texto libre y tienen que coincidir exactamente, mayúsculas incluidas. Los datos del cliente se guardan en mayúsculas: el nivel como GOLD, el tipo como CUSTOMER.
Los campos confiables son los propios del cliente (nivel, tipo, industria) y los indicadores de compra de Analítica CRM (recencia, frecuencia, importe comprado, abandono, margen). Un cliente sin datos de analítica no pasa ninguna comparación sobre esos indicadores.
Solo los clientes activos entran a un grupo dinámico.
Los miembros se recalculan solo cuando tocás Recalcular, acá o en el menú de la fila de la lista. Nada los recalcula de noche ni cuando cambia un cliente.
No toques Expresión de regla en Editar. Ese texto es solo una nota; cambiarlo no cambia quién está en el grupo.

After using Manage groups on a customer, recompute your dynamic groups. Saving Account groups leaves the customer only in the static groups shown there; it comes back to the dynamic ones on the next Recompute.Después de usar Gestionar grupos en un cliente, recalculá tus grupos dinámicos. Guardar Grupos de la cuenta deja al cliente solo en los grupos estáticos que se ven ahí; vuelve a los dinámicos con el próximo Recalcular.

Deactivate or delete a group

Desactivar o eliminar un grupo

Deactivate, in the row menu of the list, stops the group from accepting or losing members by hand and hides it from the pickers; its members stay. Activate brings it back. Delete works only on a group with no members: remove them first. A dynamic group loses its members when you change its rule so that nobody meets it and recompute.

Desactivar, en el menú de la fila de la lista, hace que el grupo deje de aceptar o perder miembros a mano y lo esconde de los selectores; sus miembros quedan. Activar lo recupera. Eliminar funciona solo con un grupo sin miembros: sacalos primero. Un grupo dinámico pierde sus miembros cuando cambiás la regla para que nadie la cumpla y recalculás.

Common issues

Problemas habituales

"Customer Groups isn't enabled for this workspace.": Customer groups are switched off in your installation. Ask your administrator.
"That group code is already taken. Choose another.": Codes cannot be repeated.
"Code must be a lowercase slug (a-z0-9-).": Use only lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, at least two characters.
"This group has members, so it can't be deleted.": Remove the members first.
"Members of a dynamic group are managed by its rule, not manually.": Change the rule and press Recompute.
"This group is inactive.": Activate it before changing its members.
"The group hierarchy can't exceed 5 levels." · "That parent would create a cycle in the group hierarchy.": Choose another parent group.
"No rule fields available…": The rule builder gets its fields from CRM Analytics. Without that module, or without permission to read it, dynamic groups cannot be built.
Recompute says zero added and zero removed: The figures in that message are not reliable. Open the Members tab to see the real result.
After Recompute the dynamic group is empty: No active customer meets the rule as written. Check the values: they must match exactly, capitals included.
I assigned a price list to a dynamic group and prices did not change: Prices follow the primary group, and a dynamic group cannot be primary. Use a static group for prices.

«Grupos de clientes no está habilitado en este espacio de trabajo.»: Los grupos de clientes están apagados en tu instalación. Consultá a tu administrador.
«Ese código de grupo ya existe. Elige otro.»: Los códigos no se pueden repetir.
«El código debe ser un identificador en minúsculas (a-z0-9-).»: Usá solo letras minúsculas, dígitos y guiones, al menos dos caracteres.
«Este grupo tiene miembros, así que no se puede eliminar.»: Sacá primero los miembros.
«Los miembros de un grupo dinámico se gestionan por su regla, no manualmente.»: Cambiá la regla y tocá Recalcular.
«Este grupo está inactivo.»: Activalo antes de cambiar sus miembros.
«La jerarquía de grupos no puede superar los 5 niveles.» · «Ese grupo padre crearía un ciclo en la jerarquía.»: Elegí otro grupo padre.
«No hay campos de regla disponibles…»: El armador de reglas toma sus campos de Analítica CRM. Sin ese módulo, o sin permiso para leerlo, no se pueden armar grupos dinámicos.
Recalcular dice cero agregados y cero eliminados: Las cifras de ese mensaje no son confiables. Abrí la pestaña Miembros para ver el resultado real.
Después de Recalcular el grupo dinámico queda vacío: Ningún cliente activo cumple la regla tal como está escrita. Revisá los valores: tienen que coincidir exactamente, mayúsculas incluidas.
Asigné una lista de precios a un grupo dinámico y los precios no cambiaron: Los precios siguen al grupo principal, y un grupo dinámico no puede ser principal. Usá un grupo estático para los precios.
