Canales de venta
A sales channel is a way sales reach you: the counter of a branch, an online store, a marketplace. A channel belongs to the sale, not to the customer, and it can carry its own price lists.
Un canal de venta es una vía por la que te llegan las ventas: el mostrador de una sucursal, una tienda en línea, un marketplace. El canal es de la venta, no del cliente, y puede llevar sus propias listas de precios.
What a channel is for
Para qué sirve un canal
- Each sale is recorded with its channel. A point-of-sale sale takes the channel of its branch; an order takes the channel it came in through.
- Sales reports can be split by channel.
- A price list can be assigned to a channel. It applies when neither the customer, its group, its segments nor the branch have a price for the product. See The price list of a customer.
- A customer is not tied to a channel. The same customer can buy at the counter and online.
- Cada venta queda registrada con su canal. Una venta de punto de venta toma el canal de su sucursal; un pedido toma el canal por el que entró.
- Los reportes de ventas se pueden abrir por canal.
- A un canal se le puede asignar una lista de precios. Se aplica cuando ni el cliente, ni su grupo, ni sus segmentos, ni la sucursal tienen precio para el producto. Mirá La lista de precios de un cliente.
- Un cliente no está atado a un canal. El mismo cliente puede comprar en el mostrador y en línea.

Create a channel
Crear un canal
- Press New channel.
- Type the Code , up to 64 characters. It is saved in capitals, cannot be repeated and cannot be changed after saving. The codes ALL and DIRECT are reserved.
- Type the Name.
- Choose the Type.
- Press Save. You see "Channel created".
- Tocá Nuevo canal.
- Escribí el Código , hasta 64 caracteres. Se guarda en mayúsculas, no se puede repetir y no se puede cambiar después de guardar. Los códigos ALL y DIRECT están reservados.
- Escribí el Nombre.
- Elegí el Tipo.
- Tocá Guardar. Ves «Canal creado».
Read the list and the channel page
Leer la lista y la página del canal
The list can be searched by code or name and filtered by Type and State. The Branch column shows the branch that holds a point-of-sale channel, or Not linked yet. The Price lists column shows the lists that serve the channel right now: None means no list is serving it, and Unknown means they could not be read, which is not the same.
La lista se puede buscar por código o nombre y filtrar por Tipo y Estado. La columna Sucursal muestra la sucursal que tiene un canal de punto de venta, o Sin vincular. La columna Listas de precios muestra las listas que atienden el canal ahora mismo: Ninguna quiere decir que ninguna lo atiende, y Se desconocen quiere decir que no se pudieron leer, que no es lo mismo.
Click a row to open the channel. The page has three cards: Summary, Branch and Price lists serving this channel. The link with a branch is set by the branch when it enables its counter and is not changed here. Price lists are shown only; they are assigned from the price list itself.
Hacé clic en una fila para abrir el canal. La página tiene tres tarjetas: Resumen, Sucursal y Listas de precios que atienden este canal. El vínculo con una sucursal lo pone la sucursal cuando habilita su mostrador y no se cambia desde acá. Las listas de precios solo se muestran; se asignan desde la propia lista de precios.
Deactivate, reactivate or delete
Desactivar, reactivar o eliminar
- To stop using a channel , choose Deactivate in the row menu, pick a Reason and press Deactivate. With the reason Other (explain below) the note is required.
- To use it again , choose Reactivate. It takes effect at once, without asking.
- To delete it for good , choose Delete, type the code of the channel where it says Type … to confirm and press Delete.
- Para dejar de usar un canal , elegí Desactivar en el menú de la fila, elegí un Motivo y tocá Desactivar. Con el motivo Otro (explicá abajo) la nota es obligatoria.
- Para volver a usarlo , elegí Reactivar. Se aplica en el momento, sin preguntar.
- Para eliminarlo del todo , elegí Eliminar, escribí el código del canal donde dice Escribí … para confirmar y tocá Eliminar.
- A deactivated channel stops giving prices: its lists are ignored and no new list can be assigned to it.
- A channel cannot be deleted while a branch uses it or while a price list is assigned to it. Deactivate it instead.
- Deleting cannot be undone. Sales already recorded on that channel keep pointing to it, so for a channel that has sold, deactivating is the safe choice.
- Un canal desactivado deja de dar precios: sus listas se ignoran y no se le puede asignar una lista nueva.
- Un canal no se puede eliminar mientras lo use una sucursal o mientras tenga una lista de precios asignada. Desactivalo en su lugar.
- Eliminar no se puede deshacer. Las ventas ya registradas en ese canal siguen apuntando a él, así que para un canal que ya vendió lo seguro es desactivarlo.
Common issues
Problemas habituales
- "Sales channels are not enabled here"
- The channel register is switched off for your company. An administrator enables it; see CRM settings.
- The New channel button is grey
- Your role can look at channels but not change them.
- "Another channel already uses this code."
- Choose another code.
- A message in English says the code is reserved
- ALL and DIRECT cannot be used as codes.
- "Someone else changed this channel"
- Another person saved it while you were editing. Press Reload and repeat your change.
- "This channel cannot be deleted while branch … uses it. Deactivate it instead."
- It is the counter channel of a branch.
- "Channel is still referenced by a price list; deactivate it instead of deleting it"
- Remove the assignment from the price list first, or deactivate the channel. The message is shown in English.
- "The channel types could not be loaded…"
- Try again in a moment.
- «Los canales de venta no están habilitados acá»
- El registro de canales está apagado para tu empresa. Lo habilita un administrador; mirá Configuración del CRM.
- El botón Nuevo canal está en gris
- Tu rol puede ver los canales pero no cambiarlos.
- «Ya hay otro canal con este código.»
- Elegí otro código.
- Un mensaje en inglés dice que el código está reservado
- ALL y DIRECT no se pueden usar como código.
- «Otra persona cambió este canal»
- Otra persona lo guardó mientras lo editabas. Tocá Recargar y repetí tu cambio.
- «No se puede eliminar mientras lo use la sucursal …. Desactivalo en su lugar.»
- Es el canal de mostrador de una sucursal.
- "Channel is still referenced by a price list; deactivate it instead of deleting it"
- Sacá primero la asignación desde la lista de precios, o desactivá el canal. El mensaje aparece en inglés.
- «No se pudieron cargar los tipos de canal…»
- Probá de nuevo en un momento.
