Versiones e historial de cambios

Before a big change you can take a snapshot of a product and later compare it with another one. The history and the timeline show the changes that were recorded on the product.

Antes de un cambio grande podés tomar una instantánea de un producto y después compararla con otra. El historial y la línea de tiempo muestran los cambios que quedaron registrados en el producto.

Take a snapshot

Tomar una instantánea

A snapshot is a copy of the product as it is at that moment: its main data, its attribute values, its categories, its linked images and files, and a summary of its SKUs. Snapshots are taken only when you ask for them.

Una instantánea es una copia del producto tal como está en ese momento: sus datos principales, los valores de sus atributos, sus categorías, sus imágenes y archivos vinculados, y un resumen de sus SKU. Las instantáneas se toman solo cuando las pedís.

Open the product, press the three-dot button and choose Version History.
Press Create Snapshot.
Type a label in Version Label (optional) that will help you recognise it later, for example "Before the new season".
Press Create. A message confirms the version number, and the new version appears in the list.

Abrí el producto, tocá el botón de tres puntos y elegí Historial de versiones.
Tocá Crear instantánea.
Escribí una etiqueta en Etiqueta de versión (opcional) que te ayude a reconocerla después, por ejemplo «Antes de la nueva temporada».
Tocá Crear. Un mensaje confirma el número de versión, y la versión nueva aparece en la lista.

The list shows each version with its number, its label, a Change Summary against the previous version (the first one says "Initial version"), and the date. Load More brings older versions.

La lista muestra cada versión con su número, su etiqueta, un Resumen de Cambios respecto de la versión anterior (la primera dice «Initial version») y la fecha. Cargar más trae versiones más viejas.

Compare two versions

Comparar dos versiones

Tick the box of the two versions you want to compare. With two ticked, the other boxes are disabled.
Press Compare in the bar that appears above the list.
Read Version Comparison. It groups the differences in Added, Removed and Changed; the changed ones show the field with its old and new value.
Press Clear to choose other versions.

Tildá la casilla de las dos versiones que querés comparar. Con dos tildadas, las demás casillas se deshabilitan.
Tocá Comparar en la barra que aparece arriba de la lista.
Leé Comparación de versiones. Agrupa las diferencias en Agregado, Eliminado y Modificado; las modificadas muestran el campo con su valor anterior y nuevo.
Tocá Limpiar para elegir otras versiones.

A version cannot be restored. Versions are for consulting and comparing. To go back to an earlier state, compare the versions and load the old values again by hand.Una versión no se puede restaurar. Las versiones sirven para consultar y comparar. Para volver a un estado anterior, compará las versiones y cargá de nuevo a mano los valores viejos.

The History tab

La pestaña Historial

The History tab of a product lists the changes made to its attribute values: the date and time, the field, and the old and new value. Load More shows older changes.

La pestaña Historial de un producto lista los cambios hechos en los valores de sus atributos: la fecha y hora, el campo, y el valor anterior y nuevo. Cargar más muestra cambios más viejos.

Changes to the name, the description, the brand, the SEO fields or the status do not appear in this tab. If you need to keep track of them, take a snapshot before and after.Los cambios en el nombre, la descripción, la marca, los campos SEO o el estado no aparecen en esta pestaña. Si necesitás llevar registro de ellos, tomá una instantánea antes y después.

The activity timeline

La línea de tiempo de actividad

More actions → Activity Timeline shows the recorded activity of the product in a single list ordered by date. Each entry of a change says which field changed, from which value to which value.

Más acciones → Línea de tiempo de actividad muestra la actividad registrada del producto en una sola lista ordenada por fecha. Cada entrada de un cambio dice qué campo cambió, de qué valor a qué valor.

Common issues

Problemas habituales

"Failed to create snapshot": Your role can read products but not edit them, or the product no longer exists. Reload the page.
I cannot tick a third version: Only two versions are compared at a time. Press Clear and tick again.
"No differences found between these versions.": Both snapshots hold the same data: nothing changed between them.
"No Change History": No attribute value of this product has been changed since it was created.
The comparison shows data in a technical format: Added and removed items are shown as the system stores them. Look for the name or the code inside each block.

«No se pudo crear la instantánea»: Tu rol puede ver productos pero no editarlos, o el producto ya no existe. Recargá la página.
No puedo tildar una tercera versión: Se comparan solo dos versiones a la vez. Tocá Limpiar y volvé a tildar.
«No se encontraron diferencias entre estas versiones.»: Las dos instantáneas tienen los mismos datos: no cambió nada entre una y otra.
«Sin historial de cambios»: No se cambió ningún valor de atributo de este producto desde que se creó.
La comparación muestra datos en un formato técnico: Lo agregado y lo eliminado se muestra tal como lo guarda el sistema. Buscá el nombre o el código dentro de cada bloque.
