Idiomas y traducciones

Product data can be kept in more than one language. You register the languages your company works with, and you load the translated values of a product in its attributes.

Los datos de un producto se pueden guardar en más de un idioma. Registrás los idiomas con los que trabaja tu empresa, y cargás los valores traducidos de un producto en sus atributos.

Register a language

Registrar un idioma

1. Go to Products → Tools → Localization and press Add Locale.
2. Type the Locale Code, for example en-US or es-AR.
3. Type the Display Name, for example English (US).
4. Set the Sort Order if you want to control the position in the list.
5. Tick Set as default locale if this is the main language of your catalogue.
6. Press Create.

1. Entrá a Productos → Herramientas → Localización y tocá Agregar Idioma.
2. Escribí el Código de configuración regional, por ejemplo en-US o es-AR.
3. Escribí el Nombre Visible, por ejemplo Español (Argentina).
4. Poné el Orden de clasificación si querés controlar la posición en la lista.
5. Tildá Establecer como idioma predeterminado si es el idioma principal de tu catálogo.
6. Tocá Crear.

The list shows each language with its code, its name, whether it is the default and whether it is active. Set Default makes another language the default one. The bin deletes a language after a confirmation.

La lista muestra cada idioma con su código, su nombre, si es el predeterminado y si está activo. Establecer como predeterminado convierte a otro idioma en el predeterminado. El tacho elimina un idioma después de una confirmación.

Cargar valores traducidos

Translations are kept in the attributes of the product. On the Attributes tab of a product, the Locale selector at the top chooses the language you are working in.

Las traducciones se guardan en los atributos del producto. En la pestaña Atributos de un producto, el selector Locale de arriba elige el idioma en el que estás trabajando.

1. Open the product and go to the Attributes tab.
2. Choose the language in Locale. All / Default is the value without language.
3. Load or change the values. What you save is stored for the chosen language.
4. Go back to All / Default when you finish, so that you do not keep loading values in that language by mistake.

1. Abrí el producto y andá a la pestaña Atributos.
2. Elegí el idioma en Locale. Todos / Predeterminado es el valor sin idioma.
3. Cargá o cambiá los valores. Lo que guardás queda para el idioma elegido.
4. Volvé a Todos / Predeterminado cuando termines, para no seguir cargando valores en ese idioma por error.

Problemas habituales

"Locale code already exists: …"

That code is already registered. Look for it in the list.

The Create button is greyed out

The code or the display name is empty.

My language is not in the Locale selector of the product

The selector offers only the five languages listed above.

A value I loaded has disappeared

You are probably looking at another language. Check what Locale says at the top of the Attributes tab.

«Locale code already exists: …»

Ese código ya está registrado. Buscalo en la lista.

El botón Crear está en gris

Está vacío el código o el nombre visible.

Mi idioma no está en el selector Locale del producto

El selector ofrece solo los cinco idiomas de la lista de arriba.

Un valor que cargué desapareció

Seguramente estás mirando otro idioma. Fijate qué dice Locale arriba en la pestaña Atributos.
