Units of measure
Unidades de medida
Units of measure (unit, box, kilo, litre…) are used all over the system. Here an administrator chooses which ones the organization uses, how they are named in the menus, and adds the ones that are missing.
Las unidades de medida (unidad, caja, kilo, litro…) se usan en todo el sistema. Acá un administrador elige cuáles usa la organización, cómo se llaman en los menús, y agrega las que faltan.
All the units, or only yours
Todas las unidades, o solo las tuyas
The page My units of measure opens with the All units switch on: every field for a unit, in any module, offers the whole catalogue. That is how a new organization starts.
La página Mis unidades de medida se abre con el interruptor Todas las unidades encendido: todos los campos de unidad, en cualquier módulo, ofrecen el catálogo completo. Así arranca una organización nueva.
If your people only use a few units, a short list avoids mistakes. Turn All units off and choose.
Si tu gente usa solo unas pocas unidades, una lista corta evita errores. Apagá Todas las unidades y elegí.
- Turn All units off. All the units start enabled, and the switches of the column Enabled can now be used.
- Turn off the units you do not use, one by one. To start from nothing press Deselect all and turn on only yours; Select all enables them all again. The counter says how many are enabled.
- Find a unit by typing its code or its name in Search units…. The enabled ones are listed first.
- Press Save. You see Your units of measure were saved.
- Apagá Todas las unidades. Todas las unidades arrancan habilitadas, y los interruptores de la columna Habilitada ya se pueden usar.
- Apagá las unidades que no usás, una por una. Para empezar de cero tocá Deseleccionar todas y encendé solo las tuyas; Seleccionar todas las vuelve a habilitar a todas. El contador dice cuántas hay habilitadas.
- Buscá una unidad escribiendo su código o su nombre en Buscar unidades…. Las habilitadas se listan primero.
- Tocá Guardar. Ves Se guardaron tus unidades de medida.

Give a unit your own name
Ponerle tu propio nombre a una unidad
Type the name you want in the Label column of the unit and press Save. From then on the fields show that name instead of the one of the catalogue. Clear the label and save to go back to the catalogue name.
Escribí el nombre que querés en la columna Etiqueta de la unidad y tocá Guardar. Desde ese momento los campos muestran ese nombre en lugar del nombre del catálogo. Borrá la etiqueta y guardá para volver al nombre del catálogo.
Add a unit that is missing
Agregar una unidad que falta
- Save your pending changes first. Creating a unit loads the list again and discards switches and labels you had not saved.
- Press Add unit. The window Add a custom unit of measure opens.
- Type the code in Code: short, up to 20 characters. It is saved in capital letters.
- Type the name in Label: what people will read in the fields.
- Press Create. You see the notice that the unit was created and it appears in the table as Custom.
- If All units is off, check that the switch of the new unit is on and press Save.
- Guardá primero tus cambios pendientes. Crear una unidad vuelve a cargar la lista y descarta los interruptores y las etiquetas que no habías guardado.
- Tocá Agregar unidad. Se abre la ventana Agregar una unidad de medida propia.
- Escribí el código en Código: corto, de hasta 20 caracteres. Se guarda en mayúsculas.
- Escribí el nombre en Etiqueta: lo que la gente va a leer en los campos.
- Tocá Crear. Ves el aviso de que la unidad se creó y aparece en la tabla como Personalizada.
- Si Todas las unidades está apagado, revisá que el interruptor de la unidad nueva esté encendido y tocá Guardar.
Disable a unit that is in use
Deshabilitar una unidad que está en uso
When you turn off a unit marked In use, the system asks first. The records that already use it keep it and stay valid; the unit simply stops being offered for new choices. Press Disable to go ahead or Keep enabled to leave it, and then Save.
Cuando apagás una unidad marcada En uso, el sistema pregunta primero. Los registros que ya la usan la conservan y siguen siendo válidos; la unidad simplemente deja de ofrecerse para elecciones nuevas. Tocá Desactivar para seguir o Mantener habilitada para dejarla, y después Guardar.
Common issues
Problemas habituales
- The switches of the table are grey
- All units is on. Turn it off to choose unit by unit.
- The button to save is grey
- No unit is enabled. Enable at least one.
- "Action not allowed" when I create a unit
- The text says why. The usual cause is a code that already exists: choose another code.
- A user does not find a unit in a field
- It is disabled for the organization. Enable it here and save.
- I lost the changes I had made
- You created a unit, or pressed Cancel, before saving. Make the changes again and press Save.
- "Could not load your units of measure."
- Reload the page. If it repeats, check your connection.
- "No units match your search."
- Clear the search box: the unit may have another code or name.
- Los interruptores de la tabla están en gris
- Todas las unidades está encendido. Apagalo para elegir unidad por unidad.
- El botón de guardar está en gris
- No hay ninguna unidad habilitada. Habilitá al menos una.
- «Acción no permitida» cuando creo una unidad
- El texto dice por qué. La causa habitual es un código que ya existe: elegí otro código.
- Un usuario no encuentra una unidad en un campo
- Está deshabilitada para la organización. Habilitala acá y guardá.
- Perdí los cambios que había hecho
- Creaste una unidad, o tocaste Cancelar, antes de guardar. Hacé los cambios de nuevo y tocá Guardar.
- «No se pudieron cargar tus unidades de medida.»
- Recargá la página. Si se repite, revisá tu conexión.
- «Ninguna unidad coincide con la búsqueda.»
- Borrá el buscador: la unidad puede tener otro código u otro nombre.
