Clases de producto, reglas y grupos fiscales

Three pieces work together: a product gets a tax class, a rule says which tax a class pays, and a group bundles several taxes into one. This chapter explains each screen and what can be maintained from it today.

Give a product a tax class

Darle una clase impositiva a un producto

A tax class is a short label you choose, such as STANDARD or REDUCED. A rule that names a class applies only to the products that carry it.

Una clase impositiva es una etiqueta corta que elegís vos, como STANDARD o REDUCED. Una regla que nombra una clase se aplica solo a los productos que la llevan.

Go to Product Mappings and press New Mapping.
Leave Map by on SKU and find the product in the search box.
Type the Product Tax Class exactly as the rule has it: capitals and spelling have to match.
Set Effective From, the first day the class applies, and Effective To if it has an end.
Press Create.

Entrá a Mapeos de Productos y tocá Nueva asignación.
Dejá Mapear por en SKU y buscá el producto en el buscador.
Escribí la Product Impuesto Class exactamente como la tiene la regla: tienen que coincidir mayúsculas y letras.
Poné Vigente Desde, el primer día en que rige la clase, y Vigente Hasta si tiene fin.
Tocá Crear.

Edit changes the class and the end date; Deactivate switches the mapping off. If a product has several mappings in force on the same date, the one that started last is used.

Editar cambia la clase y la fecha de fin; Desactivar apaga el mapeo. Si un producto tiene varios mapeos vigentes en la misma fecha, se usa el que empezó último.

Mappings by category are not applied yet. The form lets you map a Category by typing its identifier, and the mapping is saved, but when the tax of an invoice is decided only mappings by SKU are read.Los mapeos por categoría todavía no se aplican. El formulario deja mapear una Categoría escribiendo su identificador, y el mapeo se guarda, pero cuando se decide el impuesto de una factura solo se leen los mapeos por SKU.

Tax Rules lists every rule with its Name, Rule Type, Priority, Effective From, Effective To and Status. The order of the list is the order in which rules are tried: the lowest priority number first, and the first one that fits a line wins. The exact conditions are in How tax is decided on a document.

Reglas Fiscales lista cada regla con su Nombre, Regla Tipo, Prioridad, Vigente Desde, Vigente Hasta y Estado. El orden de la lista es el orden en que se prueban las reglas: primero el número de prioridad más bajo, y gana la primera que encaja con una línea. Las condiciones exactas están en Cómo se decide el impuesto de un documento.

Creating a rule from this screen is not available yet. New Rule opens a form, but it has no field for the tax code or the group the rule applies, so it cannot be saved. Rules are loaded by whoever set up your company; from here you review, adjust and deactivate them.Crear una regla desde esta pantalla todavía no está disponible. In the row menu, Edit opens the rule. You can change its Name, Priority, Ship To Jurisdiction, Product Tax Class, the dates and the Notes. The tax code or group the rule applies is not shown and cannot be changed here.

En el menú de la fila, Editar abre la regla. Podés cambiar su Nombre, Prioridad, Ship Hasta Jurisdicción, Product Impuesto Class, las fechas y las Notas. El código de impuesto o el grupo que aplica la regla no se muestra ni se puede cambiar acá.

Rule Type: leave it as it is. Only rules of type SALES are used on sales invoices, and that value is not among the options of the list; choosing another one takes the rule out of use.
Ship From Jurisdiction, Reverse Charge and Withholding are stored with the rule but do not change the calculation.
Effective To can be set but not cleared afterwards.
Deactivate switches the rule off at once, without asking for confirmation, and there is no button to switch it on again. Use it only when you are sure.

Regla Tipo: dejalo como está. En las facturas de venta solo se usan las reglas de tipo SALES, y ese valor no está entre las opciones de la lista; elegir otro saca a la regla de uso.
Ship Desde Jurisdicción, Inversión del sujeto pasivo y Retención se guardan con la regla pero no cambian el cálculo.
Vigente Hasta se puede poner pero después no se puede vaciar.
Desactivar apaga la regla en el momento, sin pedir confirmación, y no hay un botón para volver a encenderla. Usalo solo cuando estés seguro.

A change of rules reaches drafts too. An invoice in draft keeps the tax it had when its lines were saved. If you change a rule afterwards, that invoice will not post until someone saves its lines again.Un cambio de reglas alcanza también a los borradores. Una factura en borrador conserva el impuesto que tenía cuando se guardaron sus líneas. Si después cambiás una regla, esa factura no se va a contabilizar hasta que alguien guarde de nuevo sus líneas.

Tax groups

Grupos fiscales

A tax group is used by a rule when one sale pays several taxes at once. The group has a Code, a Name, a Description and its Tax Code Lines; each line is a tax code with a Sequence and a Compound mark. How the lines are added up is in How tax is decided on a document.

Un grupo fiscal lo usa una regla cuando una misma venta paga varios impuestos a la vez. El grupo tiene un Código, un Nombre, una Descripción y sus Impuesto Código Líneas; cada línea es un código de impuesto con una Secuencia y una marca Compuesto. Cómo se suman las líneas está en Cómo se decide el impuesto de un documento.

New Group creates the group and the row menu lets you Edit, Deactivate or Activate it. Each line asks for a Tax Code ID, the internal identifier of the tax code, which no screen shows today: in practice the lines are loaded by whoever set up your company. When you edit a group and save, its lines are replaced by the ones on the form, so do not remove a line you cannot type back.

Nuevo Grupo crea el grupo y el menú de la fila deja Editar, Desactivar o Activar. Cada línea pide un Impuesto Código ID, el identificador interno del código de impuesto, que hoy ninguna pantalla muestra: en la práctica las líneas las carga quien configuró tu empresa. Cuando editás un grupo y guardás, sus líneas se reemplazan por las del formulario, así que no quites una línea que no puedas volver a escribir.

Common issues

Problemas habituales

"Failed to create tax rule": Rules cannot be created from the screen yet. Ask whoever set up your company to load the rule.
"Failed to create tax group": The usual causes are a code that already exists, or a line whose Tax Code ID is not a valid identifier.
"Failed to create product tax mapping": No product was chosen in the search box, the class is empty, or Effective From is missing.
A rule names a class but the product still pays the rate on the line: Check that the product has an active mapping by SKU in force on the invoice date, and that the class is written exactly as on the rule.
I deactivated a rule by mistake: There is no button to activate it again. Ask whoever set up your company to switch it back on.

«Error al crear impuesto regla»: Todavía no se pueden crear reglas desde la pantalla. Pedile a quien configuró tu empresa que cargue la regla.
«Error al crear impuesto grupo»: Las causas habituales son un código que ya existe, o una línea cuyo Impuesto Código ID no es un identificador válido.
«Error al crear product impuesto mapeo»: No se eligió un producto en el buscador, la clase está vacía, o falta Vigente Desde.
Una regla nombra una clase pero el producto sigue pagando la tasa de la línea: Revisá que el producto tenga un mapeo por SKU activo y vigente a la fecha de la factura, y que la clase esté escrita exactamente igual que en la regla.
Desactivé una regla por error: No hay un botón para volver a activarla. Pedile a quien configuró tu empresa que la encienda de nuevo.
