Revisar que esté sana
The application publishes a health address and an information address. With them, and with the state of the containers, you know in a minute whether the installation is working.
La aplicación publica una dirección de salud y una de información. Con ellas, y con el estado de los contenedores, sabés en un minuto si la instalación está funcionando.
The daily routine
La rutina diaria
- Look at the containers. docker compose -f docker-compose.<edition>.yml ps lists every service and its state. postgres and redis also show whether they pass their own check.
- Ask the application. curl http://localhost:8222/actuator/health answers with a state. UP means that the application and what it depends on are answering.
- Confirm the edition and the version. curl http://localhost:8222/actuator/info.
- Open the administration app and sign in. It is the only check that goes through the whole path a user takes.
- Mirá los contenedores. docker compose -f docker-compose.<edición>.yml ps lista cada servicio y su estado. postgres y redis muestran además si pasan su propio control.
- Preguntale a la aplicación. curl http://localhost:8222/actuator/health contesta con un estado. UP significa que la aplicación y lo que necesita están contestando.
- Confirmá la edición y la versión. curl http://localhost:8222/actuator/info.
- Abrí la aplicación de administración e ingresá. Es el único control que recorre todo el camino que hace un usuario.
The addresses the application publishes
Las direcciones que publica la aplicación

The same addresses answer through the administration container on port 80, because its nginx forwards /actuator/. Use /actuator/health on port 8222 as the check of your monitoring tool or of your container platform.
Las mismas direcciones contestan a través del contenedor de administración en el puerto 80, porque su nginx reenvía /actuator/. Usá /actuator/health en el puerto 8222 como control de tu herramienta de monitoreo o de tu plataforma de contenedores.

What to watch besides the state
Qué mirar además del estado

| Free disk of the database volume and of the file store | They are the two places that grow. A full disk stops the database. |
| Connections to the database | Each copy of the application keeps up to 60 open. See Capacity and several copies. |
| Outbound e-mail | A mail problem does not change the health state. Look for it in the log. |
| Age of the location database | It is read only at start-up and gets old without notice. |

Common issues
Problemas habituales
- /actuator/health answers DOWN
- One of the services the application needs is not answering, usually the database or the cache. Check them with docker compose -f docker-compose.<edition>.yml ps and read the log of backend.
- curl cannot connect to port 8222
- The application is not running, or it is still starting. Look at the state of backend and at its log; see Troubleshooting.
- The health is UP but people cannot work
- The problem is in front of the application: the administration container, your reverse proxy or the network. Open the administration app from the server itself, on port 80.
- /actuator/prometheus answers with an error
- This version does not publish its measurements in that format. Read them at /actuator/metrics.
- /actuator/health contesta DOWN
- Alguno de los servicios que necesita la aplicación no contesta, por lo general la base de datos o la caché. Revisalos con docker compose -f docker-compose.<edición>.yml ps y leé el registro de backend.
- curl no puede conectarse al puerto 8222
- La aplicación no está corriendo, o todavía está arrancando. Mirá el estado de backend y su registro; mirá Solución de problemas.
- La salud está UP pero la gente no puede trabajar
- El problema está delante de la aplicación: el contenedor de administración, tu proxy inverso o la red. Abrí la aplicación de administración desde el propio servidor, en el puerto 80.
- /actuator/prometheus contesta con un error
- Esta versión no publica sus mediciones en ese formato. Leelas en /actuator/metrics.
